Baby in a Bucket

Dane had fun playing with this orange bucket the other day. He thought it made a good chew toy. Or cup. Or maybe a hat. Whichever way, it was fun!

Seven Months Old

Wow, where did the last month go? Dane is now a growing, eating, scooting machine. The bathroom scale says he weighs about 20 lbs, and he eats like there's no tomorrow. He especially loves breakfast -- fruit puree, plain yogurt, and oatmeal. He still doesn't crawl on hands and knees, but he's got the seal-flop scoot down to an art form, and some serious arm muscles to go with it. He can also get from his belly into a sitting position by himself, and every so often will pull up onto his knees. He's constantly getting into Ava's toys, a problem she solves by piling everything on the couch. Still no teeth, but I don't mind, because he's still nursing.

Must be hard work being a baby.
Trying to keep up with big sister:
Dane is fascinated with electrical cords. He gets it from his daddy.
So happy!
Ava was crawling and pulling up to standing at seven months. She was more coordinated, I guess because she didn't have as much weight to move around. She was only around 16 lbs at this age.

Good News!

My friend Amie (see previous Prayer Request post) delivered a healthy, but tiny, baby girl yesterday evening. Aubrey Lynn (not sure about the spelling) weighed 3 lbs 14 oz and was 17 inches long. Mom and baby are both doing well, so far. Aubrey is spending 24 hours in the newborn ICU for observation since she was born 5 1/2 weeks early, and mom is recovering from a very quick labor and delivery. Congratulations Amie!

Thanks to everyone who said a little prayer for them! Now I'll get back to uploading pictures of my own kiddos . . .

Prayer Request

Hey all,
No pictures at the moment, but I have a friend in need of some prayers. My good friend Amie is 34 weeks and 3 days pregnant with her second baby, and is being transported to St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis with pre-eclampsia. This is a serious condition resulting in high blood pressure and swelling and can lead to convulsions if not treated. Basically, from what I understand, the only cure is delivery of the baby. When I spoke with her at 4 p.m. she did not know yet if they were going to induce her or just monitor her for the next few days. Please pray for a healthy mom, healthy baby, and a healthy delivery!

Fun with Bubble Wrap

Ava recently discovered the joys of popping bubble wrap. At first, though, she was a little confused about what was making the popping sound -- check out the video.

Jumping Beans

Sorry it's been a while since I last posted. We had some technical difficulties with the computer that prevented me from logging into the blog. I'll try to catch up over the next few days. Here's the first installment -- video of Ava jumping around Dane jumping in the Exersaucer. Enjoy!
