We didn't fall off the face of the Earth!
I know it's been a while, so I just wanted to let everyone know that everything is just fine here. I managed to download some kind of virus or spyware or something onto my computer, and I'm hesitant to log in to any website that has my personal information on it, including this one. I'm also afraid to send out e-mail messages, so if you e-mailed me and haven't had a reply in the last week, that's why. I'll get more pictures up as soon as I can log into Blogger from my computer, I promise! For now, I'll give you a quick update on the kiddos.
Ava is talking up a storm, and becoming much more outgoing. She loves to go places, especially to the Y, where she gets to stay in the nursery and play with Barbie dolls (we don't own any of those quite yet). We are dabbling in potty training -- she will go on the toilet or on her potty chair, but is nowhere near ready to give up the diapers. But that's okay, we're just going with the flow (no pun intended).
Dane is growing like a weed and getting into everything. He had his nine month checkup last Friday, and he weighed 21.2 pounds and was 28 inches long. He has finally sprouted his first tooth, one of his front bottom ones. He's a really speedy crawler, pulls up everywhere, and loves to dig in the bathroom drawers. He's also cruising along the furniture. He was having a really hard time with separation anxiety for the last month, but it seems to have magically disappeared this week (crossing fingers).
I have a ton of pictures to share, when I get the chance. However, it may be another whole week before that happens. Sorry!

The Week in Pictures
We've been busy this week, but we really haven't done anything special. Here's a few pictures anyway, in case you need a "kid fix"!
Ava figured out how to blow bubbles in her milk. I took a picture, then promptly told her she needs to drink her milk, not play in it!
The cats had to go to the vet this week for vaccinations. I told Ava we were taking the cats to the vet, so she went and found this puppy. Apparently he needed medical attention. And, of course, her baby doll had to come along,too.
Dane just chased the puppy as Ava pulled it around the kitchen:

Kids at Play
While I was trying to take pictures of Ava for the post below, I got some cute ones of the kids playing in the yard and on the swingset. The weather has been so beautiful lately!

Two-and-a-Half
Such a pretty girl! I can't believe how fast Ava is growing up. It doesn't seem like that long ago when she was just a newborn baby in my arms. Now she hardly has the time to stop and give me a hug and kiss before she runs off on her next adventure. She'll be headed off to kindergarten before I know it!

Up, Up, and Away!
Today was New Haven's 18th Annual Balloon Race. Festivities included a parade, the balloons launching, food, music, and fireworks. We watched the parade and the balloons, but couldn't quite hold out for the music and fireworks.

As any kid knows, the best part of any parade is the candy!
The float entered by our church -- it was a cross made of balloons, and they threw out candy that included an ascension message: Faith in the Risen and Ascended Lord will Land you Up Up and Away in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
And on to the City Park for the main event -- the Balloon Race!
The first balloon to launch (you can see it off in the distance) is the "hare." All the others are the "hounds." The "hare" lands and sets up a target, and the "hounds" have to drop a bag (or something of that nature) as close as they can to the target. At least that's the way I understand it, I might be wrong. Either way, it's fun to watch the balloons take off!
